TAG
“TAG” stands for The Art Galleries at Austin Community College. With the help of my classmates, I had the pleasure of developing the logo and branding for these galleries. This project was completed over the course of two semesters.
The Challenge
To complete a branding project for our school’s galleries in a fun, but professional way as a team. Each of us had our own roles, and each semester our roles changed. In semester one, I was a graphic designer, and in semester two I was tasked with being the project manager.
The Goal
The goal would be to create a visually interesting branding system for the art galleries. By the time we were done, we wanted to have a logo, and deliverables that made the galleries feel complete.
Target Audience
The target audience would be ACC students, faculty and Austin locals of all ages with an interest for art.
The chosen concept to move forward with was of course TAG. The sketches were refined digitally, and with the help of my co-designer Jane Humphrey we created the final logo.
There would be three different galleries within TAG, so we found ways to incorporate those names into the logo as well if needed. Once we got our logo approved by our clients, we were able to start knocking out our other deliverables.
Our website for TAG was designed by Andreina Perez. The design is responsive for both desktop, mobile, and tablet formats.
The TAG animation was created by Whitney White, one of our designers on the team.
Reflection
The TAG project was definitely one of the biggest and most unique projects for me to work on. Being the project manager, I learned a lot about presentations, talking with clients, and creating schedules. Most of all, I enjoyed gaining experience from what it’s like to work with a group of talented designers. Everything felt like one big collaboration, and it was very rewarding to see how everything came together in the end. The galleries are now starting to do live gallery showings at the campus, and I’m excited to see our brand come to life.
